How does Cortex work?
When you open a distracting app, Cortex shows a short breathing exercise. This brief pause activates your brain's decision-making center, helping you choose whether you really want to continue.
Is my data private?
Your personal data — your impulse records, scores and streaks — stays on your device. Cortex does collect anonymized usage analytics (that a pause was shown or completed, the app category, your locale) to improve the app, but it never sells your data or shares it for advertising.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Absolutely. You can cancel anytime through your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. No questions asked.
What permissions does Cortex need?
Screen Time access (to detect app usage) and notifications (to redirect you to the breathing exercise). Both are optional but recommended for the full experience.
